Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce below the presenters for the upcoming Forum on May 20, 2008. Also joining us as moderator of the May 20th event will be veteran investor Bob Geras, President of LaSalle Investments, Inc.

I have also been working with many of you over the last several months to prepare and move forward with an opportunity for deal syndication amongst participants of the Forum, and I am pleased to be conducting an interactive discussion on those activities immediately following the investment presentations.

For your convenience, the Forum will have a total of 5 live interactive venues where you can join fellow investors for networking and previewing investment opportunities including: Downtown Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; Madison, WI; River Falls, WI and West Chicago, IL.

I certainly hope you will be able to join us.

Sincerely,

Midwest Venture Summit
University Business Plan Competition Update

The ILBIF facilitated the Midwest Venture Summit’s Illinois University Business Plan Competition for the last two years. With the support of a team from the Northern Illinois Technology Enterprise Center (NITEC), a division of Northern Illinois University Outreach, each university start-up company receives coaching on their business plans and presentations. NITEC supports entrepreneurs in early-stage and existing companies develop clear paths to technology commercialization.

Congratulations to all of this year’s University Participants. This year’s winner and recipient of the DCEO Entrepreneurs Challenge Grant for $50,000 is…… University of Chicago’s ReTel Technologies. Please join us in congratulating the ReTel Team on a job well done.
